NEEDS FOR PASTORS IN THE PASTORS FELLOWSHIP MBEYA
- Feeding program
Every year we have a range of 30 to 60 poor and vulnerable children from communities we enroll and our Nursery school we provide them with elementary education and help them join primary school after one year or two years at our nursery school, their ages are between three and five years, and most come from very poor environments and come hungry hence we started feeding program where we provide food five days a week and every last Sunday of the month we feed other needy and poor people in the community.
We feed 100 people every month. We need $500 a month to continue feeding the children and needy people in the communities. This is a big need which is urgent.
- Resources for their ministry
Pastors Fellowship Mbeya’s purpose is to provide a whole Bible to a pastor so they can study it and be enabled to feed the people of God with sound teachings from the word of God not speculations to their congregation, so that the congregation may grow and mature from sound teachings of the word of God hence impact their communities.
Pastors with no Bible or whole Bible cannot grow disciples, cannot share the gospel story of transformation from daily interaction with the word of God, cannot establishing a growing and impactful church.
Can’t imagine if you went to church and there were no bibles. Can’t imagine a Pastor having to plan his lesson, teach Sunday school class, deliver his sermon, and counsel his congregation all without having a copy of the Holy Scripture or access to any commentary or literature on the books of the bible. That is a reality to many pastors in Mbeya rural. Many of these Pastors do not have access to Internet, libraries or any other books.
The need is huge for Bibles for pastors especially in the rural areas, the testimony about Jesus is shared and new baby Christians are born but die without spiritual food, as the pastor does not have a bible or has a bible with missing books when does not help him to provide spiritual balanced diet, it is very sad that most of the pastors cannot afford a Bible. The African church’s growth and maturity in Christ depends upon God’s eternal word in the hands of pastors and the people.
When I asked the question why they do not have the whole Bible, and some even did not have a Bible. This is what they said.
- The common answer was that they could not afford a Bible as it is too expensive according to their economic situations and family needs.
- Most of them inherited the Bibles from their pastors before them.
- They borrowed the Bible from a pastor in the locality and write some verses from several chapters to prepare a sermon.

- Computers for Pastors
Pastors need computers for further learning and communications in their vicinity, the only place they can go for a learn online is at a Internet cafe, and they have to pay more than a dollar to use the computer. And also the internet cafe are not everywhere, so they have to travel to the internet cafe by bus or walking which is usually far from five kilometres and above.
